The Highlands are steeped in history and the surrounding area is dotted with fascinating castles and historic ruins. Urquhart castle on Loch Ness being one of the most famous, combined with a spot of Nessie spotting! Cawdor Castle, renowned for its Shakespeare connection as well as Ardross Castle, often referred to as “The Traitors Castle”, all within a 30 minute drive away. Don’t forget to also visit the historical Battle of Culloden site, just the other side of Inverness from us.
