Redcastle Estate is a traditional, family run business with the core activities being arable farming, forestry, development, renewables and tourism.

The estate is run in a sustainable and responsible manner. We are fortunate to benefit from rich biodiversity and look to improve this through our land management practices, including tree and hedgerow planting.

Community

House To Let

We have a diversified range of houses and cottages to rent on a long term basis at affordable rents. The houses are finished to a high and compliant standard and meet all energy efficiency criteria. All houses are currently fully occupied however if you would like to be added to the waiting list please get in touch.

Forestry

Forestry on Redcastle Estate is made up of a mix of commercial and amenity woodlands. We promote biodiversity through our continual cover policy and the environmental objectives set out in our Long Term Forestry Plan.

Access

The Estate supports responsible public access in accordance with the XXXX Act and asks all visitors to comply with the Scottish Outdoor Access Code 20XX (link).

We are pleased to welcome visitors who come to enjoy our woodland walks and admire the historic ruins of Redcastle and we kindly ask that you take all litter home with you and leave no trace.

Please remember that Redcastle is a working farm. Agricultural machinery operates regularly on estate roads and around the farm, so care should be taken at all times. We kindly ask that visitors keep to designated footpaths to protect both the landscape and farming operations.

Wild campers must be particularly cautious, especially during periods when fire risk within our native woodland is high.

From October to February, the Estate hosts a local syndicate pheasant shoot. During these months, dogs must be kept on leads to avoid disturbance to wildlife and pheasant pens.

While visitors are welcome to admire the castle ruin from the outside, entry is strictly prohibited due to the age and unsafe condition of the structure. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us care for the Estate for future generations.

Traditional Highland Sporting takes place on the estate primarily through Red, Sika and Roe deer control. This ties in with our habitat management objectives.
