Despite its rugged reputation, the Highlands are home to some truly stunning beaches, many of which, locals like to keep secret with their white sand and turquoise waters. Exciting day trips can be taken up to Achmelvich, Red Point, Mellon Urdrigle and Oldshoremore. Popular spots closer to home include Nairn Beach for long stretches of golden sand, Rosemarkie for dolphin spotting and the sweet fishing village of Cromarty on the Black Isle.
